Perimeter Protection 2010: Successful premiere

  • Convincing exhibition concept: Mechanical and electronic site protection systems in one place
  • Exhibitors praised high quality of visitors
  • Next event: 17–19 January 2012

The three-day Perimeter Protection exhibition in Nürnberg ended on Friday, 23 April 2010. 1,620 trade visitors came to the first edition in the exhibition centre to source information on products and systems for site protection. The organizers summed up the event positively: The exhibition, which showed both sides of perimeter protection – the mechanical and the electronic – got off to a convincing start. The mood in the exhibition hall was excellent and the exhibitors praised the extraordinarily high quality of the professional audience.

54 exhibitors, 14 of them international, presented an extensive spectrum of products at Perimeter Protection, which ranged from classic mechanical protection measures like fences, gates and barriers to modern electronic facilities like video surveillance, burglar alarm systems or biometric access control systems. The Chairman of the Fachverband und der RAL Gütegemeinschaft Metallzauntechnik e.V., Gerd Gießner, emphasized in his opening speech: “Until now, individual fencing and security products or systems have been shown at several different exhibitions in Germany and abroad, but they always tended to be more of a side effect. The intended combination of fencing and security systems now pursued at this exhibition is therefore unique.”

Dipl.-Ing. Bernd H. Sander, President of the European Perimeter Protection Association (EPPA), Brussels, added: “We at EPPA are very pleased that Perimeter Protection in Nürnberg now gives the site security sector its own independent international exhibition. Terrorist attacks and organized crime have shown the importance of Perimeter Protection.” The visitors were contractors specializing in fencing installation, planners and architects, decision-makers from local authorities, security managers from industrial companies and security officers from local and long-distance transport, (air)ports, energy utilities, fire service, penal institutions, police and armed forces.

Note the date: The next Perimeter Protection takes place in Nürnberg from Tuesday to Thursday, 17–19 January 2012.
