New exhibition for perimeter protection, fencing and building security in Nürnberg
- Booming market for site protection
Perimeter Protection, the Trade Fair for Perimeter Protection, Fencing and Building Security, celebrates its premiere in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 21-23 April 2010.
The event presents the latest technologies and developments in fencing and locking systems and security systems in the commercial, public and private sectors. “The combination of fencing and security systems is unique,” says Friedrich Klopotek, director of the German association, Fachverband Metallzauntechnik e. V., Ratingen, and RAL Gütegemeinschaft Metallzauntechnik e. V., Ratingen. “The relevant products and systems have been shown at many different exhibitions until now. We very much welcome one central exhibition for perimeter protection, as this offers a complete survey of the market and saves us a lot of time,” explains Klopotek, whose association is the sponsor of the new exhibition. The organizers of Perimeter Protection are H & K Messe of Stuttgart and NürnbergMesse.
Perimeter protection, which is a topical issue in expert circles, is defined as the protection of an object by adopting measures in its surroundings, in short, site protection. These measures can be mechanical constructions (e.g. fencing systems), electronic devices (e.g. video surveillance, sensors) or personnel measures (e.g. security services).
Security system market booming There is a great need for security. Whether chemical concern, airport or football stadium – outdoor sites have been fenced in for miles and equipped with the latest security systems over the past years. The reason for this is the increasing risk to the installations and sites to be protected through criminal activities, vandalism and terrorist acts. Just how important site protection is in the meantime is shown by the EU’s specific efforts to define standards for the planning and implementation of relevant projects. The national and international market for the supply and installation of fencing has grown strongly in the past years. The international market volume is currently estimated at about five billion euros, of which security systems account for some 25 per cent, with a rising trend. Experts expect an increase to over 30 per cent
Exhibition concept
Perimeter Protection takes place every two years in Nürnberg. Its geographical location – in the economically powerful region of Southern Germany close to major East European countries – and its network of representatives in all important European countries make Nürnberg ideal for an event like Perimeter Protection. Some 150 exhibitors and 5,000 trade visitors are expected at the premiere in April 2010. A European congress will be held parallel to the exhibition and bring together representatives from politics, economy and industry.
Exhibitor and visitor target groups
The exhibitors at Perimeter Protection are suppliers of fencing systems, fittings, component products, power- and manually operated site gates and doors, gates, barriers, bollards, turnstiles, security and barbed wire systems, components for fencing and door systems, special protection and the extensive segment of security products and components. A wide range of high-security systems and access control and surveillance equipment are also shown. The market overview provided by Perimeter Protection is rounded off by service and maintenance for the core products and components.
In terms of visitors, Perimeter Protection is designed for the large classic target groups from the trades, such as metalworkers, electronic technicians or locksmiths, and for the target groups responsible for planning, such as architects, planners and security consultants. Other visitors include security officers from the sectors of local and long-distance transport, (air)ports, energy, fire service, rescue service, police, armed forces and large industrial companies, and decision-makers from municipal and local authorities.
